Gleich am Tag nach der großen Wanderung stand dann mein persönliches Highlight vom Wochenende an: der Elchpark. Dort angekommen, gingen wir erstmal in den Souvenirshop, der mit Elchstofftieren, Postkarten mit Elchen drauf, Tassen mit Elchen drauf, T-Shirts mit Elchen drauf und vielem vielem mehr (natürlich mit Elchen drauf) gefüllt war.

The day after our big hiking trip I was absolutely ready for my personal highlight of thr weekend: Värmlands Moose Park. When we arrived we instantly visited the souvenir shop, which was filled with stuffed animals, postcards with moose, mugs with moose, t-shirts with moose and much much more (with moose of course).

Der Moose Park wird von zwei Brüdern betrieben, die es sich zu Aufgabe gemacht haben, den Elchbestand in Skandinavien zu erweitern. Unser Guide hat uns viel über Elche und ihr Verhalten erzählt, wovon ich mir nicht einmal die Hälfte merken konnte. Aber Birke fressen sie gerne, das weiß ich noch.

The Moose Park is owned and operated by two brothers, whos goal it is to expand the moose population in Scandinavia. Our guide told us a lot about moose and their behaviour in the wild. I can't remember even half of it. But I remember, that they love eating birch.



Nach einer kleinen Einführung ging es dann auch zu den Elchen, wo uns kurz deren Rangordnung erklärt wurde, damit wir auch keinen Streit auslösen. Dann durften wir sie füttern, streicheln und natürlich fotografieren, bis die Speicherkarte glüht.

After the first introduction on how to find moose in the wild and when to avoid them, we went to see those impressive animals. Our guide explained us the ranking in the herd, so we wouldn't cause any trouble. Then we could feed, cuddle and pet them and of course take lots and lots of photos.

Das Kalb ist übrigens Alice, die gerade mal ein paar Monate alt ist. Ist sie nicht einfach unfassbar niedlich?

By the way, this calf is called Alice and she's only a couple of months old. Isn't she incredibly cute?

Am Ende musste natürlich noch ein ultraübermäßigsupercooles Gruppenfoto her und wie man sieht, viel cooler als Wir, geht es eigentlich gar nicht mehr. Abends sind wir dann nochmal zum Alstern, wo wir ein kleines Bad im eiskalten See wagten und einen tollen Sonnenuntergang genossen.

In the end we had to take a superduperextremelycool group photo and as you can see, it doesn't get much cooler than we are. In the evening we went to lake Alstern, where we dared to take a short bath in the icecold lake and enjoyed a nice sunset.
